Following consultation with your neurosurgeon, an operation has been decided.
Our operating theater coordinator will schedule and organize :
– your operation
– the consultation with our anesthesiologist : your anesthesiologist will be sure you are fit for surgery and prepare you for the procedure by asking detailed questions about your health, examining you, and reviewing tests. Be sure to let your anesthesiologist know about any medical problems you have, such as heart disease, diabetes, or asthma; what medications you are taking (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal supplements); and whether you’ve had problems or concerns with anesthesia in the past.
– examinations to be carried out in hospital before the operation: these may include a CT scan, MRI or angiography. These examinations may be ordered by your neurosurgeon in order to obtain recent images of your lesion, and/or to load them into our neuronavigation guidance system used during your operation.
– a transfer in a post operative rehabilitation or a convalescent home.
Please note that due to service imperatives and emergencies, your intervention may be postponed.
If this is the case, you will be notified by our operating theater coordinator and a new date for your operation will be defined.
